Quit Tasmania’s latest campaign was launched by Professor Simon Chapman in Hobart on May 7, 2009. This latest campaign is a remake of the highly successful National Tobacco Campaign’s (NTC) Every Cigarette Is Doing You Damage campaign that was first aired over 10 years ago. The ads have been retagged to relate the story being told in the advertisement with the graphic health warning images that now appear on cigarette packs.

Hopefully, the resurrection of this iconic campaign may have impact on a whole new generation of smokers.

The Revised NTC campaign will air throughout Tasmania from May 11 – 31, 2009.

Want to quit?

An important part of any quit attempt is access to information and support. This is available through the Quitline telephone support service or by talking to your GP or Pharmacist.

The Quitline is a confidential and non-judgmental service run by specially-trained people. Quitline advisors know how hard it can be for smokers to quit for good, and that it can take several attempts. They can provide information on any aspect of giving up smoking. The Quitline can send free self-help materials and offers a free telephone call-back support service to help smokers through the quitting process.
